Cultural Connections has had the honor of partnering with the UW Odyssey Project over the past two years, bringing programming to their Odyssey Junior alumni youth (children of parents who have already graduated from the program)--most of whom have been impacted by incarceration. This year, artist Terrence Adeyaju brought his fresh way of looking at art in drawing exercises that fully engaged even the reticent youth. Our faces drawing exercise culminated into an on-site silkscreen. I AM YOU, YOU ARE ME posters. Then the Odyssey people had dozens professionally silkscreened onto t-shirt to hand out to their current graduates and juniors.
