We asked the renowned Liubov Szwako to lead a mural project on the back wall of the Goodman Community Center Gym where graffiti had graced the skateboard area since, we think, the center's inception. Liu was respectful of the existing work, cleaning an area for the kids to express themselves while leaving much of the original design in tact. And the kids did not disappoint. Liu brought a crate of professional quality spray paint and the kids couldn't get their hands on it fast enough. Over the course of two sessions, they expressed themselves in a number of different ways, bringing it all together in the end as one amazing mural that, after Liu added his signature lines, we called it a successful end to an amazing summer at Goodman.
